Bayesian Inference

Definition

A method of assigning a probability distribution to a parameter, so that the uncertainty about its value is expressed rather than hidden. Instead of looking for one “best” value, it finds the posterior distribution of the parameters, which Bayes’ theorem builds from the likelihood of the data and prior knowledge of the parameter’s distribution. Bianca used it in her marketing-mix modelling project.
